Akabi, meaning “beloved” and “the jewel of the sea” in Armenian, exists to be with communities as they become the “village” caring for our children. We advocate for an empowering birthing journey, where the physical, psychological, and spiritual are equally important and interconnected areas of care. We recognise that the soul and context of a birthing person are often detrimentally neglected by modern healthcare, so our doula care serves as a form of justice through a relational model.
